Securely grounded in the Hunter to serve the world

Pulse began 35 years ago with a local focus, and grew into a strong, modern technology company with a global outlook.

Our story starts in 1988 when businesses were beginning to ‘computerise’. In the Hunter Valley of NSW, where mines are clustered, a group of programmers, collectively Pulse, worked in their founder’s garage. The local mining companies wanted customised software, so programming was in demand. By 1993, Pulse had more employees and modest offices in East Maitland.

From the outset, the people of Pulse worked very closely with mining people to deliver the specific business solutions they needed. Custom development led to product development and the launch of Pulse ERP with continuing enhancements.

Product development

Responsive, agile, value-driven development

Standups, scrums, and sprints are how things get done in an agile environment where client and user needs come first.

When the Agile Manifesto was launched in 2001, Pulse adopted agile methodologies. The mining-specific solutions developed for clients were transitioned into the Pulse ERP, allowing all types of mining to be managed with full system integration. Pulse Analytics was launched and the Pulse ERP was extended to manage marketing, logistics, and planning; then came the mobility suite, and the new UX/UI. Today, with expert teams collaborating in the agile framework, product development accelerates with system enhancement, apps, data automation, predictive intelligence, and B2B interconnectivity.

Expert business services and support for clients

CPAs, ex-mining managers, and administrators – an array of experts as your business analysts, optimisers, and helpers.

Product development is at the core of any software company. Pulse also has teams of subject-matter experts drawn from mining and related sectors to help translate real-world business needs into perfect-fit solutions. Pulse experts are often consulted or embedded for a time to optimise an area of the mining business, or temporarily augment in-house resources.

Additionally, Pulse offers outsourced human resources to help with tasks like converting paper-based checklists into digital checklists; payroll, accounts, IT, and other jobs that can be covered part-time or full-time, short-term or long-term.
